LOCTITE® 243

Product Description

LOCTITE® 243 is designed for locking and sealing threaded fasteners that require normal disassembly using standard hand tools. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between closely fitting metal surfaces, preventing loosening and leakage caused by shock and vibration. The thixotropic nature of LOCTITE® 243 reduces the migration of the liquid product after application to the substrate. The product provides robust curing performance and works on both active metals (e.g. brass, copper) and passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. It offers high temperature resistance and good oil tolerance, including resistance to minor surface contamination from various oils, such as cutting, lubricating, anti-corrosion, and protective fluids. LOCTITE® 243 is particularly suited for locking threaded fasteners in a wide range of equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, motors, and vehicles.
