Product Description
LOCTITE® 222 is designed for locking and sealing threaded fasteners that require easy disassembly using standard hand tools. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between closely fitting metal surfaces, preventing loosening and leakage caused by shock and vibration. It is particularly suitable for applications such as adjusting set screws, as well as for small-diameter fasteners or those with a long engagement length, where easy disassembly is required without the risk of shearing the screw.The thixotropic nature of LOCTITE® 222 reduces the migration of the liquid product after application to the substrate.
Properties
- Ideal for low-strength threadlocking of adjustment screws, countersunk head screws and set screws,
- Prevents fastener loosening on vibrating assemblies, e.g. pumps, gear boxes, presses,
- Ideal for small thread sizes up to 6.35 mm (1/4"),
- Can be disassembled with ordinary hand tools for easy service and maintenance.
